Xiaomi Mi Drone Review & Unboxing
Today I propose the review of a drone recently entered the market.. It is the Xiaomi Mi Drone, developed by the chinese agency Xiaomi, renowned for the production of smartphones. Discover together the features with which the new product makes its debut on the market.. 
Unboxing
Shipping carried out in my case with Italy Express. The best in my opinion in that it has exempted me from the payment of customs. It took 10 days to reach its destination.
Scotch tape and box are customized with the logo of Xiaomi Mi Drone. A sticker bring back model, weight and service number.
The original package of the drone is very neat, with different compartments for various spare parts. You can carry them, together with the drone, thanks to landing feets closable (by means of a special switch) which reduce the space occupied, inside the same briefcase.

Instructions
The design of the drone is refined, with the cooling grids arranged in the arms and below the frame, details that denote the style and elegance.
The props are "booby-proof".
Their assembly, as well as interlocking gimbal, is simple and immediate, achievable through its tools included in the packing which contains 4 spares. Inside there are also included props-guards, that provide greater protection for the propellers.

In the rear of the frame of the drone is placed a 2MP Camera which allows to enable the VPU Mode, stabilizing it in flight up to a maximum height of 5 meters even in the absence of GPS signal, function that i found very useful in indoor flights.
Particular of the Brushless Motor
The rear LEDs are very bright and guarantee an excellent visibility also in the distance or in the absence of light.
The 3-axis spheric gimbal underlying is capable to absorb up to 2000 vibrations per second, allowing to the 13MP 1080p camera to create professional movies. The same is made with a high attention to detail. Its location is well studied and prevents contact with the ground.

The battery compartment is very broad and allows the housing of a 5100 mAh/77.52Wh 17.4V Li-Po inside. The battery is "intelligent", and is provided with an indicator so as to reveal the residual charge. It is additionally endowed with the following protection systems: Input over-voltage protection, output over-current protection, over-charge / over-discharge protection, PTC temperature protection, short-circuit protection, reset protection, input reverse protection, output over-voltage protection. Such systems will provide long-lasting. The battery charge can be monitored during the flight even from smartphones.
The supplied charger needs of an external adapter, with a cost of approximately $2. The little cap protects the contacts from dust and the transformer protects the battery from any voltage surge.
The transmitter houses a support for the smartphone, extensible up to 6" and finished in rubber for a better adherence and protection. This particular feature recurs even in the back and laterally, fostering its grip. The behind buttons allow you to store videos and snap photos, without the necessity of having to issue the command via smartphone. The little washers on the upper corners allow you to adjust the brightness of the camera and the angle of the gimbal. The sticks are made of aluminium and below we find two buttons, respectively for turning-on the transmitter and for the taking off or landing of the drone. A single pressure of the power-on button allows you to view the state of charge of the transmitter.

The two panel antennas have a high gain, one transmits a radio signal to the drone exploiting a frequency of 2,4GHz, the other one receives the video signal at a frequency of 5,8 GHz.
The recharge and the connection of the smartphone to the radio control is allowed through the aid of the supplied micro USB cable, the same included in Android smartphones.

Review
I state that it looks very much to a Phantom 3 Advanced, but it is sold at a much lower price, it is a little smaller (59x52x68 cm) and it has some not insignificant difference, it is infact possible to replace the various spare parts, the landing feets are foldable, and so on.. Clarified this, we proceed with the review of the product in question.
The drone, equipped with a dual satellite localization system GPS + GLONASS which allows to hook up to 20 satellites, is endowed with a FULL HD 13 MP Camera, able to carry out stunning shots..
It is very stable in flight, even when strong wind occurs and the 3-axis gimbal, capable of absorbing more than 2000 vibrations per second, ensures smooth and clean shots, comparable to those of a documentary Enjoy the following panoramic flight.
I was surprised by the ease of piloting of this quadcopter that gave me a sense of reliability thanks to an enviable precision of commands.. for the first time i infact moved the nose of the drone in a different position from that in which it was oriented and I managed to control it perfectly.
The signal of the video trasmission can reach more than a kilometer away. The reception of the signal was still good, without any delay in the transmission.
The drone is constantly updated, and the chinese Xiaomi factory has recently implemented the ability to connect the smartphone to the radiocontrol also via Wi - Fi through the appropriate WiFi Connector, purchasable separately . I never found problems in the binding of the transmitter to the quadcopter and the English Official App, available in the PlayStore, proved to be perfectly compatible with my Android device Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini SM-G800F.
The battery, also recently updated, guarantees a flight time of about 25 minutes and the monitoring system of the app warns, once reached the threshold of 30%, that is the time to call back the drone. The reserve charge ensure a sheltered Return To Home, wherever it is.
The quadcopter is capable of performing different functions with adjustable parameters according to your needs...It is possible to set the reachable distance, the speed, and for the beginners use the 'Beginner Mode' to limit the maximum attainable distance to 50 meters and the height to 100 meters, it can be disabled from app settings. The following is a list of the main functions: Orbital Flight which records following a circular trajectory previously setted by the user; the famous Return To Home, with a customizable height, default is 30 meters, and a maximum of one meter tolerance; TapToFly which allows to reach a position on the map simply with a tap of the screen; WayPoint which follows a route previously established and consent to take pictures of the landmarks. I propose you afterwards several videos of the drone in action
The flight is totally secure in that the own position and that of the drone are shown on the map, synchronized with Google Maps and the telemetry is complete, with every useful information to monitor the state of the aircraft.
CONCLUSIONS
I was particularly impressed by the stunning photos of the product, the customizable parameters make it suitable to perform professional shooting. The drone turned out to be complete in all aspects and reliable, studied in every detail. I admit that I did not expect such a result from a drone entered in this price range. I would absolutely recommend.
